It has been a momentous year for us at LLL, as we have farewelled three much-loved colleagues in Terri, Heather and Gaynor.
The long-serving trio are all enjoying well-deserved retirement after a combined period of dedicated service of just over 90 years!
After more than two decades together at the front teller counter, Heather and Terri were the faces of LLL for many customers, while Gaynor, as the first point of contact on the phone, was LLL's voice.
Each left us with some beautiful, heartfelt words about their time with us at LLL.
Terri
"It's meant the world to me to be part of the Lutheran circle and to help my Church.
"I remember at end-of-financial-year time, we'd have a nice tea out, and they'd talk about what we had done during the year and how we'd helped different projects and people.
"You worked in it day after day, but hearing it like that, and hearing how much we were helping people … every time I went home with my chest puffed out.
"It felt so fulfilling to be able to be part of that … I was just the little teller out the front, but for me even to be that was just so fulfilling. It was wonderful.
"A lot changed over the years, but some things stayed the same … the spirit, the soul of the place, the heart are still there.
"I was so proud that I worked at LLL."
Heather
"For me, the whole mission and purpose - what LLL is about - totally fits with my faith and my values.
"It has been a pleasure and a privilege to know that what you're doing meant something worthwhile.
"It just gave me so much satisfaction, it's been a wonderful place to work, not only in what it does, but the people and the culture.
"It was lovely … it has definitely not lost any of its family feel to it."
Gaynor
"I feel like I have spoken to nearly every customer after being on the phones for over 20 years.
"I have developed a huge rapport with our regular customers, so much so that I have had a few customers take the time to come in and meet me while they were holidaying or seeing family in Adelaide.
"Some came from Queensland and Western Australia - quite extraordinary!
"What has LLL meant to me? It has been absolutely wonderful to work in a Christian environment, more so, a Lutheran environment, as a born and bred Barossa Lutheran!
"I find it incredible how so many people have been employed by LLL over my 23 years and I can almost name them all! There are certainly some that remain lifelong friends and this is a wonderful legacy of working for LLL.
"It has been a pleasure and a joy to work for LLL."
All at LLL wish Terri, Heather, and Gaynor every blessing as they embark on the next exciting chapters of their lives!
